Carrier confirms Samsung Galaxy A5 will get Android 7.0 Nougat update in late January
Goodnews to sammy's Galaxy A5 users!!

Samsung just informed A5 users that no matter the device is about two years old it will continue to support the phone with major Android updates.

For Your information this device originally had a firmware based on the legendary android 4.4 which Samsung updated to get it up to par with it's contemporaries running android 6 marshmallow.

The last major update, Android 6.0 Marshmallow was pushed to all Galaxy A5 devices back in August. However, those who thought that that will be the end of Android OS update for the original Galaxy A5 couldn't be more wrong.

Optus, an important Australian carrier confirmed that Samsung Galaxy A5 will eventually receive another major update in January, Android 7.0 Nougat. According to the network operator, the update is already in the testing stage and it's expected to hit Galaxy A5 devices in late January, 2017.

Although only one carrier has confirmed the upgrade, samsung A5 users are hopeful that this update wont only be for australian users but for everyone in the world using samsung A5.

Maybe there's hope for Samsung Galaxy A3 owners as well, since it packs the same chipset (but less RAM). Unfortunately, Optus didn't say anything about this particular device, and we don't have any additional information for the moment.

So keep your fingers crossed A5 users! January is just days away.
